Events Coordinator
- work with other volunteer leaders (issue leads; volunteer coordinator) to plan events that increase public awareness and teach people solutions
- find venues, reserve rooms, recruit other volunteers needed to put on the event
- promote events
Fundraiser
- financial support from the state and national Sierra Clubs is significantly reduced making this position extremely important
- help raise funds for our Political Action Committee (this would give us more resources to support the candidates we endorse)
Member Engagement
- welcome new members
- inform them about upcoming events
- send them survey to determine issues they are interested in, their willingness to volunteer, their skills
Support for Issue Campaigns
- graphic design
- copy writer
- on-line organizing tools (petitions, social media, emails to officials)
- press/media relations
Volunteer Coordinator
- design events to attract new volunteers
- follow up with people (members and non-members) who attend a Sierra Club event to see if they are interested in becoming more involved
- contact people who say they are interested in volunteering
- enter volunteers' interests in HELEN (national Sierra Club membership database)
- enter volunteers' participation in activities/events in HELEN
- plan volunteer recognition events
